Longcase Kemp Brothers Grandfather Clock

This longcase grandfather clock is heavily carved oak with patterned borders and incredible hand-carved depictions of fruit, flora and fauna and bows. At the base of the clock there is a heraldic shield with three horses bordered by two beautiful blooms. The clock has a 6ft. The tube that chimes on the hour. The face of the clock has the phases of the moon etched in silver and gold along with decorative brass cherubs. Kemp Brothers' clock-makers of Union Street Bristol were responsible for many of the major clocks installed in Bristol, a town known for it's clock making.

Materials and Techniques: Carved oak, oak, glass, hammered & painted brass, brass & steel clock movement, pendulum & weights.

Condition: Good. May have very minor shrinkage, creaking, surface oxidization, rubbing, etc. as normally found on an older item.  Wear consistent with age.
